I’m thrilled that my book, Citizen Canine: Dogs in the Movies, is out now. It’s a celebration of 60 of the finest canine actors in film history, covering a span of 100 years. The dogs range from Strongheart, Rin Tin Tin and Lassie to Cujo, Uggie and Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Below is the old photo that started my obsession – me meeting Hey Hey, one of the descendants of Pal, the talented dog who first played Lassie. I met the gorgeous Hey Hey at the AFM in LA in 2005.
